Family Drug Support Aotearoa New Zealand (FDS) assists family/whānau and friends impacted by someone’s alcohol and/or other drug (AOD) use by offering compassionate, science-based, human rights focused support that helps strengthen relationships and achieve positive outcomes.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join our dynamic Board of dedicated volunteers, supporting the mahi of FDS. We are seeking a person with an understanding of the complexities of non-profit organisations, and a diverse knowledge of the Mental Health/AOD system, including cultural perspectives.
The FDS Board meets approximately every six weeks for 1.5 hours. A working Board, Trustees also provide a small amount of additional support to the management team.
If you would like to gain valuable experience in governance in the area of Mental Health/AOD, this opportunity would be ideal.
Term: 3 years, renewable
Location: FDS is located in Christchurch; however, Trustees can be based anywhere in Aotearoa
Previous Board level experience not essential.
